When I tell my friends about MakeLoveNotPorn.tv, I often get confused looks. Why would I pay for porn, when the internet is basically made of the free stuff*?
Paging through RedTube or PornHub, I’m visually assaulted by images of simulated gang rape, pedophilia, and other acts I find a turn-off at best, and degrading or triggering at worst. The descriptions use terms like “slut”, “whore”, “bitch”, “brutal”, and graphic descriptions. I’m seeking out something that will excite me, but have to wade through pages of words and images that depress me. Sometimes I’ll abandon the enterprise altogether after realizing I’m no longer in the mood.
I love the idea of paying real people to share their experiences. But more than that, I appreciate how MakeLoveNotPorn.tv respects me as a viewer and participant by allowing me to discover what I want to watch instead of pandering to the lowest common denominator of shock and awe. That’s why I tell my friends, “you get what you pay for”.
* And cats. The internet is also made of cats.
