“There will soon be an Indian version of Make Love Not Porn—the US-based real sex videos sharing platform. Its founder Cindy Gallop announced this on the sidelines of Sheroes summit. “India is one of the highest sources of traffic on our platform. But I understand that there is a language barrier with many of them not so fluent in English. There are millennials writing to us that we should start something in India,” said Gallop.

She started Make Love not Porn in 2013, which is a crowdsourced, user-generated video sharing platform showcasing real sex, with a revenue sharing business model for its contributors. These contributors are called Make Love Not Porn Stars. Gallop started the “sex-tech” venture after observing that men were taking porn as the real sex. According to her, hardcore pornography had distorted the way a generation of young men think about sex, and, therefore, it was important to correct those myths.

“We’re making it easier to talk about sex by building a whole new category online—social sex—to normalise sex; promote good sexual values and behaviour; help drive better relationships and better lives; and ultimately make the world a better and happier place”, she says.
